Raised in a small 'picture postcard' market town David has lived in the capital for over half his life.  He retains a deep love and knowledge of the British countryside and its history but now considers himself very much a 'city slicker'.  This leaves him ideally placed to guide visitors with equal enthusiasm to isolated rural locations, country houses and castles or through the streets of London - arguably the most cosmopolitan city in the world.

Fine Art trained and formerly a magazine art editor David's passion is architecture and contemporary design.  He is fascinated by the design process and when guiding architecture does not simply guide in terms of appearance but considers the construction and essence of how a building works.  He sees London as a collection of urban villages just waiting to be explored.

As a practising artist David keeps fully up to date with current trends and exhibitions and will devise tours, walks and gallery visits to show the very best in historic and contemporary culture that the capital has to offer.

David has a personal interest in the rich diversity of gay history and culture - from the tranquil beauty of Vita Sackville-West's garden at Sissinghurst, the bohemian drinking clubs and cafes of Soho frequented by Francis Bacon and Derek Jarman to the academia of Virginia Wolfe's Bloomsbury - and compiles specialist tours informing and entertaining his clients with a liberal sprinkling of anecdotes on the lives, works and loves of numerous gay men and women.   Why not try his gay tour of Westminster Abbey?
